What is a seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER)?
It stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. It is similar to MPG or Miles Per Gallon. MPG is easier to relate to since everyone knows what a mile and a gallon of gas is….boy do we know. SEER (like MPG) is a ratio. It may be easier to think of SEER as CPE or Cooling Per Electricity (like MPG). The short answer for understanding SEER is that the higher the number the better, just like MPG. For the long(scientific), answer see Wikipedia-Seer Rating
